In Luke 9:23, Jesus says, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Cross Training exists to make disciples of Christ and to equip and assist parents in this task. Our activities, preaching, Bible study times, trips and events all flow out of our purpose and core values.

Our Core Values are expressed in the word "CROSS"

  • Christ –We seek to be Christ-centered in everything that we do in our youth ministry. Jesus Christ is to have first place in our lives, and so therefore He is the foundation of our youth ministry since He is the one we seek to follow. We believe it is essential to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We also recognize that spiritual growth requires submission and obedience to the Holy Spirit’s transforming work into Christ-likeness [Ephesians 2:8-10, Colossians 1:18, Luke 9:23, Romans 8:29].

  • Relationship – We emphasize the necessity of pursuing after God through a real and vibrant relationship and daily walk. We also believe that it is essential to foster close-knit, Christ-centered, Word-centered Christian relationships with other believers [Ps 1:1-2, I Peter 1:22, II Peter 1:7].

  • Outreach – We believe that being a true follower of Christ results in taking the Gospel message out to others. Consequently, we give specific focus and opportunities for teens to reach out to others with the Gospel. [Matt 18:18-20]

  • Scripture – Everything we do in our youth ministry is centered upon the Word of God. We believe that God’s Word is all sufficient and all authoritative. So it is crucially important that our youth ministry is Word-Centered in preaching, teaching, counseling and fellowship [Ps 19:7-10, II Tim 3:16, Heb 4:12].

  • Serving – We believe that a core part of being a true follower of Christ is living a selfless life of serving others, which is a natural outflow of a love for God. [Matthew 22:36-40, Matthew 23:11, Galatians 5:13].
